Travel Tip: Seasonal Air Service

Locations in this article:  Chicago, IL Dallas, TX

You’ve heard of seasonal airfare, but there’s also seasonal air service.

And some of those surprising routes come with unexpected benefits.

It makes sense that American Airlines offers flights to Jackson Hole, Wyoming in ski season…

…But the airline also serves Jackson Hole from Chicago and Dallas/Fort Worth in the summer months.

And that’s a great time to get a good deal in mountain resorts.

Talk about unexpected routes: did you know that you can fly between Washington, D.C., and the British cities of Manchester and Glasgow on Icelandair?

Best of all, you can stop over in Iceland for no extra charge.

And now that Branson has its own airport, low-cost carrier Frontier Airlines operates nonstop from Milwaukee between July and mid-December.

A big surprise? Every Friday from June through mid-September charter service Swift Air will fly from Chicago’s O’Hare to …. Zagreb, Croatia.

It’s the first non-stop flight from the U.S. since 1991.

Airlines are constantly changing and remapping their flight routes, so even if you think you know how to get from point A to point B, don’t forget to look for unexpected services.
