Travel Tip: Motorcycle Tours

Locations in this article:  Portland, OR Seattle, WA

There are road warriors and then there are warriors of the road.

I’m talking about motorcycle enthusiasts … and there are some summer experiences designed just for you.

Whether you want to travel in a group or go solo, a company called EagleRider has motorcycle tours throughout the U.S.

The benefit of a guided tour is there’s a backup van to carry your luggage and gear.

If you prefer the self-drive option, they’ll provide a customized GPS route.

And here’s an unusual one: The general managers of of Kimptons’ Hotel Vintage Park in Seattle and Hotel Vintage Plaza in Portland are both Harley-riding women.

They’ll actually take guests out on rides around town or along the I-5 corridor.

No matter how long your motorcycle trip, there are some important tips to keep in mind.

Space is limited, so pack light and layer your clothing.

Bring along multi-use tools, and the all-important First Aid kit, a flashlight and spare keys.

And most important, map out your route ahead of time so you can stay on top of changing weather conditions wherever you travel.
