Travel Tip: Great Kids Programs At Museums
If you think traditional museums are too inaccessible to kids, think again.

More and more mainstream museums are incorporating participatory activities to
engage younger visitors. â?¨

Head to the Korean Gallery inside the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and kids
can get hands-on experiences learning how to make their own brush paintings.

Best of all, it’s an activity that is totally free. â?¨

The Phoenix Art Museum has audio tours designed specifically for children, and
special Kids Days programming that incorporates education and craft.â?¨

The Denver Art Museum has its own center for children’s arts activities, a kids’
corner where they can create their own piece of art, and several designated
areas for making their own Egyptian-inspired jewelry. â?¨

Denver’s Stories in Art series takes place seasonally and is free on a
first-come, first-serve basis. Here, kids can learn how to investigate art,
analyze, observe, and create their own art. â?¨

There are even kid-friendly programs that are specifically designed to make
parents’ lives easier.

On certain Fridays, The Whitney in New York City, offers stroller tours for
families with babies up to 18 months. â?¨

Led by expert guides, these tours take place when the museum is closed to the
public …crying babies welcome!
