Whether you’re traveling across the world, or across the street, proper etiquette at the dining table is an important skill.

The good news is kids can now get hands-on lessons during their hotel stay. Both kids and adults can learn table manners at Loews Don Cesar Beach Hotel in St. Petersburg, Florida. Here, they can take part in a four-course tutorial dinner that shows them the need-to-know basics.

In Minnesota, the Saint Paul Hotel offers an etiquette lunch for kids ages 8 to 13 that includes games and activities. At $45 including a four-course lunch, it’s not such a bad deal.

Of course, those skills are just as helpful for adults, so the hotel also offers a three-hour business etiquette lunch for $55.

And, of course, how many of you wanted to be Eloise when you were kids?

Well, now The Plaza is offering etiquette classes if you book the Eloise Suite. Now, this whole package isn’t cheap: it starts at about $1,000 a night. But hey, that Eloise knew how to live in style.

But on a more practical note, my advice is basic etiquette lessons shouldn’t just take place in hotel and restaurants.

The best way to learn is practice and repeat, whether you’re in a four-star establishment or at home in the kitchen.
