Foreign Airlines’ Superior Service Shows In Zagat Survey Of Customer Satisfaction

Foreign airlines soared to the top of the pack in the annual Zagat survey of customer satisfaction toward airline service released on Monday.

Zagat has been surveying air travelers for the last two decades, asking passengers to rank airlines on a 30-point scale. Issues such as comfort, service, food quality, luggage policies and check-in procedures are ranked in the survey.

The survey also takes into account things like timeliness and in-flight entertainment options.

Of all the airlines, Singapore Airlines was at the top of the pack with the highest customer satisfaction rating. The premium class airline’s service was ranked an almost perfect 28 out of 30.

Domestically, Virgin America ranked the highest among the American airlines with passengers giving it a rating of 24. Among the large domestic premium class airlines, Continental Airlines came out on top with an airline score of 21, followed by American with a score of 18, Delta with a score of 17, and United with a score of 16.

When it comes to budget airlines, JetBlue ranked the highest with a score of 19. Southwest placed second with a lower score of 15 out of 30.

Of all the airlines, Delta’s economy class division was the lowest ranked. The airline only scored 11 points with customers.
