Renovations & Upgrades:

There are changes throughout Los Angeles. The iconic Beverly Hills Hotel turned 100 this year and to celebrate the Dorchester Collection Property is undergoing a 3-year renovation and restoration by Tiffany Design. Taking places in phases until 2015, the restoration will include the lobby, Polo Lounge, guest rooms, suites and famed pools and cabanas. Designer Adam Tihany will oversee the operation.

In downtown Los Angeles, the Luxe City Center Hotel has completed its multimillion-dollar makeover to its 178 guest rooms and suites. The property also has a new restaurant from chef Alex Reznik.

Then on West Third street, the Orlando Hotel has recently completed a $6 million renovation adding new guest rooms with bigger bathrooms, high-tech, two-bedroom suites, a redone saltwater pool, an updated fitness center, and a new street-facing restaurant with a take out window.

In Manhattan, another landmark, the Algonquin Hotel just re-opened its doors after completing a 6-month $15 million renovation to its 181 rooms and suites and all its public spaces, including the lobby that was home to the famous round-table.

Orlando Hotel

Just in time for beach season, the Inn at Laguna Beach complete a multi-million dollar redesign. In addition to renovated guest rooms, the lobby, pool deck and the rooftop Pacific Terrace, both overlooking the beach, have been updated.

In the Barossa Valley wine region of South Australia, a new seven-suite, all-inclusive property called Kingsford Homestead has been completely renovated and opens on July 1, 2012.

Almost a decade in the making, in Paris, the Starhotels Collezione, the Castille Paris has completed their $25.5 million project, which began in 2005 when the Italian hotel group purchased the property. The last phase included 40 rooms in the Opéra Wing completely redesigned.

Dugout Suite, Hotel Union Square

Across the pond in London, the Dorchester unveiled 22 new suites in the classic British residential style. The one to three bedroom suites have marble foyers, hardwood floors, and marble fireplaces, the in-room technology includes remote touch control lighting and air-conditioning, and mood lighting in the bedrooms and sitting rooms. Rates start at £2,665.

Outside London, The Duke of Richmond Hotel in St. Peter Port, Guernsey  reopened in the last month after renovation to the public areas, bar and restaurant, a number of guest rooms and other facilities as part of the Red Carnation Hotel Collection’s new ownership.

In San Francisco, the Hotel Union Square, part of Personality Hotels has created the Dugout Suite for all San Francisco Giant’s lovers. Done in orange and black and filled with team, the suite aims to be the ultimate fan experience. Rates start at $325.
