Adventures Under the Sea in Micronesia
Micronesia’s tropical waters have both a wealth of wildlife and diving sites. Truk Lagoon’s diver-friendly warm waters boast over 40 sunken Japanese war ships and planes from the U.S.’s 1944 Operation Hailstone. Most wrecks are about 500 ft long, some are shallow enough for snorkelers to partake, and some still hold active explosives. With eight to 10 diving sites per state, the world below the surface is an extraordinary site home to many nudibranches, large colorful fish, rays, sharks, and soft and hard corals.
