Slideshow: Landscape Photography in Arizona

Rick SammonPro photographer Rick Sammon has photographed in almost 100 countries around the world, and gives more than two dozen photography workshops (including private workshops) and presentations around the world each year.

In this slideshow of Arizona’s spectacular scenery, he shares his tips and tricks for capturing the perfect landscape photo.

Calling all landscape photographers.

If you have never been to Arizona, you can have some real photo fun in only a few days, because this photographic location offers some stunning subjects. You can photograph Horseshoe Bend and the Slot Canyons, which are in and around Page, Arizona, and then drive to Monument Valley, which is about two hours from Page.

Here are some photographs, along with some photo tips, from a recent trip, which will be featured in my next book, Secrets of High Dynamic Range Photography (April 2010). All photographs taken with a Canon 5D Mark II and 17-40mm zoom lens.

We’ll start out in Monument Valley, travel to Horseshoe Bend, visit the Slot Canyons, and end our journey back in Monument Valley.
