Wine bottleDear Peter,
I know it’s our tradition to leave notes for each other in hotels around the world and for me to send you these electronic postcards as I travel on my own, but today I have decided to begin the Napa Bottle Blog since I am out and about doing the entire area scene.

There’s going to be a Born to Shop California Wine Country, so I will have a lot more to report on besides Napa, but right now I am living in the Westin Verasa in East Napa, California.

Fall foliageNew York-based photographer Brandon Remler bought his first camera in 1982 and has been snapping photos ever since.

His enthusiasm for photography led to a career in the photography industry, with stints at Canon USA, Eastman Kodak and currently, Fujifilm USA, Inc.

While traveling around rural New York, Remler used a mixture of both digital and film cameras from Fujifilm and Canon to take his shots–a grand total of five different cameras ranging in price from $250 to $3000.

Great day to flyBy now, everyone is familiar with standard airport security procedures: shoes off, boarding pass out, water bottles empty and laptops in a separate bin. But do these strict and irritating rules apply to everyone equally … even celebrities?

And what about dress codes on airplanes? In the last couple of years we’ve heard media reports of women being kicked off planes for being dressed to provocatively, and just this week a man was denied his seat in first class for dressing too casually.

Is it fair to lose your seat because of the way you dress? Read on to learn how the rules of flight - or lack thereof - are sometimes inconsistently enforced.

Golden Gate BridgeDear Peter,

I am about to do a huge tour of Napa and California Wine Country for a new book, so I kicked off the research the way anyone would—in the city of San Francisco.

It was just a quickie visit, but the main purpose was to attend a re-corking workshop, something I had never even heard about before.
