JapanHiroshima and Nagasaki, the only two cities to ever be victims of atomic bombings, soon hope to become the only two cities to ever co-host the Olympic Games.

The mayors of the two cities have made a joint bid for the 2020 Summer Olympic Games. The cities plan to team up and campaign on a message centered on world peace.

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) recently made history by awarding Rio de Janeiro the 2016 Olympic Games, making it the first-ever South American city to host the event. But will the committee bend the rules and allow two cities to co-host the event?

Miyajima JapanJapan is notable for its modern antiquity, bustling city life, and enough fluorescent lights to give any traveler’s eyes a workout.

But with the current economic climate, the Land of the Rising Sun might also be confused with the Land of the Rising Budget, especially for travelers.

However, there are plenty of activities in Japan that are affordable—and even free—meaning you can cover a great deal of territory even on a tiny budget.

Snowy treeInvestigators think that ice may have contributed to the crash of a small turboprop plane in Montana on Sunday, which they originally speculated may have been overloaded.

The plane, which was carrying three families from Oroville, California to a ski holiday in Bozeman, Montana, crashed Sunday in a cemetery near Butte and all on board were killed.

Though the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is a long way from knowing the exact reason the Pilatus PC-12 came down, some experts have said that atmospheric conditions in the area were similar to conditions in Buffalo on February 12 that led to the crash of a commuter plane there.

ShinjukuTokyo is a massive, hyper-modern metropolis with a million and one things to do, and reams of articles could be written about it.

In fact, entire guide books could be written about stuff that isn’t in the guide books. But we’ve got a few experiences that you’re unlikely to stumble across while you’re reading a brochure.

And remember, when in Tokyo, be sure to do some exploring on your own. It’ll be worth it.
