Domestically: Step one is to book flights 45 to 60 days in advance. Then be creative in the structure of a route. Counterintuitive connections sometimes have lower fares. For example, if you’re flying to Hawaii, it might be cheaper to head out from Las Vegas or even Phoenix.
Internationally: Look at the travel taxes associated with the country you are visiting. Currently, taxes to London are prohibitive. Instead, fly to another European city and then connect through to London.
