Brazil for the FIFA World Cup in 2014. A soccer world event is the perfect occasion to visit that beautiful and magic country and preview what the next Olympics are going to be like.

Winter Games in Sochi, for sure. I’d save up for that and try to get a package deal! I’m much more of a winter person than a summer person, so that would be wonderful for me! Just make sure to pack extra layers for the time spent outside and getting around!

One of my travel dreams is to go to an Olympic Games Opening ceremony. I think it would be cool to go to Rio 2016 and enjoy the whole spectacle. I have always wanted to be in the thick of it while the whole world watches. It is on my bucket list because I hope to be able to fluent in Brazilian Portugese by then and hopefully, I won’t be such a fish out of water, language wise. I will probably use Kayak to help me find out the best price on the airline that I want and use their price watch tools to better know the best time to purchase my tickets. I will be using AirBnB to find a nice place to stay that will feel a little less like a hotel. And I will be using all the tips and tricks that have been posted lately and that are in Peter’s books.

I was able to get a taste of World Cup fever when I lived in Palo Alto in 1992. My dream double play would be the 2014 World Cup in Rio followed by the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.

My family especially my husband, the football nut, is really looking forward to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil! It will be 64 years since Brazil hosted World Cup back in 1950 and we know they will do a great job again! World Cup is one of those great sports events that bring together the world and we want to be part of it. Plus it is Brazil what a great country to visit and no better reason to visit then World Cup!

Although not able to plan for this year, definitely The Paralympic Games – No matter what physical challenges they are facing, these athletes inspire and challenge us all to be the best that we can be when we set our minds to it! They can use our support and attendance!

I would love to be able to go to Paris to watch a tennis game at Rolland Garros and see Rafa Nadel win.

Celebrating my 50th in Germany and Switzerland with the whole family; that will be our own olympic event!!!!!!

I have to go with Summer Olympics 2016 in Rio! I would LOVE to make it to a Summer Olympics it’s on my bucket list and it’s RIO! We would save for the next 4 years for a trip for 2 (My newlywed husband and I). I would start looking for hotel deals and Airfare in early 2015/2014 if available – if I find a good deal I would book it using a rewards credit card to make sure I get some travel points etc. Making sure it’s refundable because I will continue to search for more deals throughout the year because I could find something better in my searching! We would start pre-planning our activities once the Olympic schedule comes out – start pricing out events about 5-6 months before going. Make sure we read up on Rio culture and history so we can figure out places we want to go, foods we want to try and what to look out for. It’s a long planning process but I well worth it! Certainly a dream come true! We already looked up current airfare to Rio and it’s about $1500 per person! So we already know what to expect at least.

The Pan Pacific Masters in Australia. These games, where 41,000 people participate in 41 sports is inspirational. There is only one requirement to enter the Pan Pacific
Masters Games and that is that the athletes meet the minimum age requirement for their sport, which for the majority is 30
years of age. The Pan Pacific Masters would be a GREAT sporting event to see because the athletes are people like you and me, all interested in competitive sports. As the athletes are all ages, one would be able to see Grandma’s and Grandpa’s competing- surely this would be inspirational for all visitors as health is our only wealth and the Pan Pacific Master Games proves this!!

The SEC Football championship in Atlanta GA this December.I am a huge college football fan have season tickets to the University Of SC and would love to see them play Bama for the Sec crown this year.I use Tripadvisor to tell me about hotels to stay in Atlanta that are close to the Georgia dome. I would use Priceline to book because I seem to get great prices on rooms with them if I bid..I would use Ebay to find tickets or craigslist depending on what seats were available and I would drive to Atlanta since I live 6 hours away using gas buddy to look for the lowest fuel prices in my area before I left for my trip to Georgia.

Any soccer game at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico CIty. I watch the Mexican league games there on our local cable TV. Not only do I get an exciting sporting event, I learn a little Spanish. There would be history interest also, since this stadium was part of the Mexico City Olympics venue.
