Hidden Gems: Turks & Caicos, Conch and Cuisine

Every Caribbean island is known for its special “thing.” In Grenada it’s spices. In Jamaica, it’s reggae and jerk. In the Turks & Caicos, they’ve got something really special: the conch.

Conchs grow in abundance around the island.  It’s the Turks & Caicos’s biggest export, and the locals use every part of the conch from the shell to the meat. Case and point, Peter heads to Da Conch Shack in Provo.

Watch as Peter experiences the ocean-to-plate philosophy throughout the Turks & Caicos along with a few other culinary hidden gems.

Watch part one,  Hidden Gems: Turks & Caicos, Naturally Beautiful. Then check back next Friday for the latest installment of Hidden Gems: Turks & Caicos.
