Be a PeterGreenberg.com Contributor: Vote for the Finalists

The time has come to announce the finalists for our contributor contest!

Thank you to every who participated. We received hundreds of responses from seasoned travelers. You told us where you dream of traveling, what you can do at those destination, how to overcome travel obstacles, and what you need to carry to be prepared and travel smart.

Our top finalists managed to impress us with their answers to all four questions. Here’s a preview:

  • Heather Tucker has Chernobyl on her bucket list to experience  ”the deafening silence of village with no people.”
  • Kristin H, for an off-the-brochure activity, recommends visiting the narrowest house in New York City.
  • Marie faced quite the dilemma when traveled around the world with four kids for 42 days with two bags and two kids…she recovered both, eventually.
  • Supertramp remembers to pack two bathing suits, one for swimming and one to use as a quick-drying towel.
Now, it’s up to you to see the winner. Read Heather Tucker, Kristin H, Marie and Supertramp‘s full answers, then vote in our poll. Voting closes on January 26, 2012.

Loved this blog!  Often it is hard to think outside of the box when you are traveling with children.  This give me inspiration to pack up the whole family and take off.

  • Kristin H.

Congratulations to all of us who made it to the finals!  I read all of our contributions and think it should be a 4-way tie as we all had interesting and entertaining responses.

    What I learned:
First there is the obvious…there are many great travel destinations available to us today.  The opportunities to experience new people, places and cultures are never ending.

But then there is the not so obvious…the impact on the global economy. Did you know that the World Travel & Tourism Council expected travel and tourism  to contribute to “…just over 9% of global GDP…” in 2011? Check out their report titled “Travel and Tourism 2011″ for more amazing information.

So go forth and travel. Discover new destinations and contribute to the world economy.
