Video Travel Tip: Bike Sharing Programs

Traveling through a city can be difficult, especially internationally.

Renting a car and then driving through an unknown place is not only expensive, but also stressful. And walking from one location to another limits how far you can go. Public transportation is great, but then you have to stick to a specific route. That’s why bike-sharing programs are becoming popular all over Europe and North America.

Each one, however, has its own rules and regulations. To learn about some of the best bike programs around the world and how they work, check out our video with Peter Greenberg Worldwide Travel Correspondent Alyssa Caverley.

Have always wanted to try these and just recently, finally did in London with Barclay’s. Wasn’t the easiest of transactions but finally got our US debit card to work.  Road through Hyde Park and really enjoyed it. Watched others with similar problems, some not successful. Good maps of locations online so that you know what location to rent from and where to return. Be aware there are only so many bikes at each location also there has to be room at the spot you are returning to. Many locals use these too.

A ride in the bike can always be enjoying. But there are some things to it such as knowing the proper routes or else most of the time could go searching the route. If you have a guide who is with you, then Bikes are a wonderful thing to explore the city.
