Dave Carroll, of United Breaks Guitars fameCarroll had spent nearly a year dealing with United’s customer service department trying to get reimbursement to cover the cost to repair his $3,500 Taylor guitar.

When the first video was released, it quickly garnered millions of hits on YouTube and finally got United’s attention. Within 24 hours, the carrier offered Carroll $1,200 in cash and $1,200 in flight vouchers–after originally telling him that he would get nothing.

Carroll ultimately rejected their offer because he said they missed their chance to bargain with him and he was going to follow through on his promise, which was to make 3 videos about the experience. The third, and final, installment will be released tomorrow.
