    Peter’s right on fear – I say just do it and just be smart about traveling. And if you want to wear sneakers and stick out as an American, I’d say that’s OK too. I wore my USA hat around Africa and France in September and was warmly welcomed.

    I’d resolve to look for great values In the luxury travel sector in 2009. If you’re planning on or would like to travel in 2009 and typically sail on a premium cruise line like Celebrity, then i’d look at value on Regent Cruises or the Yachts of Seabourn.

    I’m also seeing phenomenal prices at luxury hotels in Europe.

    These are great–especially the first one about not being afraid to travel.

    My own personal resolution is to never check a bag again. The airlines aren’t going to get an extra penny out of me!
