Last year, Peter asked the head of a major U.S. airline if he planned to install pay toilets onboard. You know what his response was? It’s not on the list … yet. But almost everything else is.

JetBlue is charging $7 for pillows and blankets, and just about all airlines are charging for bags.

Many will charge $15 for the first checked bag and $25 for the second—each way.

Delta Air Lines says it doesn’t charge for the first bag, but you better hold on—it’s $50 for the second bag.

And now, even water will cost you: US Air charges $2 for soft drinks and water, but they’ll make an exception if you have to take medication.

So here’s our advice: On the way to the plane, stop at the newsstand and buy a packet of M&Ms.

In our book, that qualifies as “medication.”
