Passports will be required to cross the border by land in 2009, but now there are more options for travelers.

The government recently began issuing the new “Passport Card,” which is a cheaper and smaller version of the traditional passport.

It’s about the size of a credit card, and costs $20 if you already have a passport, and $45 for new applications.

If you’re a frequent border crosser, Customs and Border Patrol is offering passport cards as part of the Trusted Traveler Program.

These cards give you access to dedicated commuter lanes so that you can skip the long lines.

But not just anyone can get them—you have to go through a background check, fingerprinting and an interview.

If you’re crossing the U.S.-Mexico border, you can use the SENTRI card, which costs about $120.

And if you’re planning to travel to Canada frequently, the NEXUS card will cost you about $50.
