Cool Kids Programs at National Parks

If you want your children to get some outdoor education, consider a national park educational program, where they can learn, exercise and play at the same time.

You may not know that hundreds of national parks offer Junior Ranger programs, which usually involves filling out educational booklets that are related to the park environment.

But for a more hands-on experience, why not try a scavenger hunt at Jewel Cave National Park in South Dakota?

Kids can explore caves and learn more about how they were built by nature.

Or you can travel back in time in Nebraska where your kids can visit the first homesteads at the Homestead National Monument of America.

They’ll dress in homesteaders’ clothes and even spend some time in an old-fashioned classroom.

And, if your kid would rather be on stage instead of the great outdoors, Wolf Trap National Park in Virginia offers a kids performing arts program that offers dance, puppetry, and theater.
