Save Time, Money, and Travel Better with Peter's Daily Travel Tips

If you’re planning to stop in big-city museum, here’s how you can save money by going on a free museum day.

In Los Angeles, you can enter the Museum of Contemporary Art for $8.

Not a bad deal, right?

But if you go on Thursday between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. it won’t cost you a penny.

In New York, the famous Museum of Modern Art is free every Friday evening from 4 to 8 p.m.

Don’t want to pay $18 to enter the Guggenheim Museum?

Go on Friday between 5:45 p.m. and 8 p.m., and you can pay as much (or as little) as you want.

Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art costs $10 every day—except Tuesdays, when admission is free.

And, in Paris, you can save big on the first Sunday of every month, when 15 museums—including the Louvre and the Musée d’Orsay—are entirely free.
