Save Time, Money, and Travel Better with Peter's Daily Travel Tips

If you love animals, you may have considered traveling to a city to visit a zoo. But what if you could travel with the zoo instead?

You may be surprised to learn that several major zoos offer international travel programs, which are led by wildlife experts and scientists.

You can join the Los Angeles Zoo Association on a 17-day tour of India for about $7,500, including airfare.

The experience involves searching for horned rhinos in a national park, taking an elephant safari, and riding a 4×4 through the jungles—as well as visiting major cities and ancient ruins.

The Smithsonian National Zoological Park offers a 15-day trip to China, where visitors can see great pandas and cruise along the Yangtze River for less than $5,000.

And with the San Diego Zoo, a 10-day trip to the Amazon gives participants an experience into the jungle with native guides showing the way.
