If you love both reading and travel, you may be interested to know that you can spend a whole summer studying literature in the writer’s native country.

Students at Summer Literary Seminars in St. Petersburg, Russia, can take two-week courses for about $2,000, often with Pulitzer Prize-winners and best-selling authors at the podium.

You can study Russian literature and culture, travel writing, and even something called “Untranslatable Russia,” as well as taking city tours with a literary focus.

The Cambridge Summer Study Program in England offers courses in British literature which are complemented by field trips to historic sites like the Imperial War Museum.

You can also get your literary fix with the University Studies Abroad Consortium, which offers a British Arts and Literary Studies program.

A five-week program in London costs about $5,000, and includes field trips and courses such as Literary London and Theater in London.
