DESPITE LOSING PANEL IN FLIGHT, AMERICAN AIRLINES 767 FLIES TO PARIS - USA Today
American Airlines is delving into the incident involving a panel stripped from a jet’s belly on April 20, which flight crews initially described as “a loud shaking noise from the belly of the plane.” Though the Boeing 767 made it safely from Dallas to Paris, ground crews found upon landing that a two-feet by three-feet chunk of panel covering two air conditioners was missing. Jim Kaiser, American’s manager of flight operations quality control, and Chuck Harman, the airline’s fleet captain for Boeing 757 and 767 planes, released a memo noting that the captains did what was expected, and that passengers were in no danger at any point.

CATCH A TOUR OF YANKEE STADIUM BEFORE IT CLOSES - Los Angeles Times
New York’s beloved and famous Yankee Stadium is closing after this season. Having held 26 World Series since its opening in 1923, the Stadium will keep its public tours, but only at designated times through September 19th. Advance tickets for the tours are available online, if you want to see the Stadium before it closes. In place of Yankee Stadium, George Steinbrenner will be creating a new stadium to the tune of $1.3 billion. And when it’s finished, tickets close to home plate will cost around $2,500. A tour guide pointing to Yankee Stadium said, “This is the House That Ruth Built,” and contrasts his gesture to the new site by noting, “Across the street is the House That George Built.”

OLYMPIC TORCH GOES INTO THIN AIR - Jaunted
After several summit attempts were delayed due to bad weather, the Olympic Torch finally has reached the summit of Mount Everest. The team guarding the torch had to wait for several days at the high camps. China prohibited access to the summit in order to prevent pro-Tibetan protests from tampering with the torch run. The torch that climbers toted to the top was a side torch; the main one is traveling through Guangdong and will visit every province of China before arriving in Beijing in early August.
