If you’re looking for a volunteer vacation where you can rescue animals, there are plenty of options available.

Best Friends Animal Society invites volunteers to its animal sanctuary in southern Utah.

You can help out for a few hours or a few days by feeding, cleaning and walking animals like dogs, rabbits, horses and pot-bellied pigs.

The sanctuary also provides a list of nearby hotels and guest cottages.

The PAWS Wildlife Center outside of Seattle is the largest animal rescue and rehabilitation center the Pacific Northwest. Small groups of volunteers can participate in one-day volunteer projects to improve and upgrade animal facilities.

And, for about two thousand dollars for four weeks, you can travel with Global Vision to volunteer in Queensland, Australia on koala conservation research project.

If you’re feeling really adventurous, you can even help a research team living in the Australian bush and monitor the koalas.
