Save Time, Money, and Travel Better with Peter's Daily Travel Tips

Today show logoAlmost since commercial airports began, there was the airport hotel.

These buildings were — for the most part — afterthoughts, attempts at lodging for a truly captive audience of passengers whose flights had been delayed or canceled.

One Response to “Airport Hotels Go Upscale”

  1. My wife and I used to love Sam Lord’s Castle in Barbados. The ocean breezes, the beautiful beach, the entertainment and the staff were wonderful, to say nothing of the castle itself. The resort closed and supposedly is being restored and was to re-open, however, we cannot get any information about it.

Do you know its status? If it is not going to reopen, do you have a recommendation of an all-inclusive Caribbean Resort with trees on the beach (a favorite characteristic for us)?

    Thank you very much.
