ATLANTA TORNADOS HURT CONVENTION SEASON – Associated Press
The tornadoes that devastated a six-mile path through downtown Atlanta have shut down swaths of the city’s business and tourism center. The city’s 3.9 million square-foot convention center, the Georgia World Congress Center, has been shut down just as “convention season” is about to start, to the detriment of the Atlanta Home show, a dental convention and much of the Southeastern Conference basketball tournament. Also affected were the Georgia Dome, Centennial Olympic Park, the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel, and The Omni Hotel at the CNN Center.

PAPER TICKETS? ALMOST GONE, BUT NOT FORGOTTEN – Los Angeles Times
It’s a rare thing these days for travelers to hold onto paper tickets, but in some cases, they can still be a handy thing. But some fliers still insist on getting a paper ticket, even if it can cost them up to $50 in fees. Why? The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is promising to reach “100% electronic ticketing” by June 1, but passengers can still get paper tickets from travel agencies, airlines that choose to print their own paper tickets, and from smaller airlines in lower-tech destinations.
