If you don’t mind sleeping in a tiny hotel room, you could save a lot of money on your next trip.

Something called a “pod hotel” offers small rooms with no frills, at low prices, and often in central locations.

Now, several international brands are following the trend. The Pod Hotel in midtown New York, offers “pods” with shared baths for as little as $89 a night. Rooms with private baths start at $139.

At Heathrow and Gatwick airports, you can rent a room at Yotel from $51 to $82 dollars for four hours, and $10 per hour …

From Peter Greenberg Worldwide Radio

FIRE AT LAS VEGAS’ MONTE CARLO

Only 17 people were injured, mostly due to smoke inhalation, in the fire at the Monte Carlo in Las Vegas on Friday, and thankfully, no one died.

Las Vegas had some of the worst fire codes in the world in 1981, and now they have some of the best, as a direct result of a devastating fire at the MGM Grand.

Antique PocketwatchWith international travel on the rise and more business being done across different time zones, more fine watch brands are offering models with a multiple or second time zone function.

Here are my favorites based on personal experience. No, I don’t own them all, but I’ve owned some of them and have tried them all.

These aren’t exactly the cheapest watches out there, and prices vary widely by case material, band and where you buy. Discounts are generally available for all but the Rolex and Panerai.

If you love visiting museums when you travel, why not stay at a hotel that displays original art—even some that are for sale?

The Jumeirah Essex House in New York not only is located within walking distance from the Metropolitan Museum of Art, but it also has an on-property art curator who commissions art for the lobby’s gallery.

Grassington House Hotel in England features local artists who specialize in painting the Yorkshire Dales, and each of these works are for sale.

And the 21c Museum Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky features a 9,000 square foot contemporary art museum managed by the 21c Museum Foundation.

The museum …
