10 MOST DRUNKEN CITIES – Asylum.com
Bottoms up! A recent Men’s Health study surveyed the top 10 most dangerously drunken cities in America. The study analyzed annual death rates due to alcoholic liver disease and looked at drunk-driving arrests and the percentage of fatal accidents involving intoxicated motorists. THE WORLD’S SCARIEST AIRPORT? - Gadling
The world’s “scariest airport,” Courchevel Altiport, is located in the middle of the French Alps, only a few dozen yards away from ski slopes that contain some of the most difficult black diamonds in the world. The runway is barely 1,700 feet long, and it has an 18 percent steepness gradient. If you’re a pilot who’s landed here, it’s definitely boast-worthy. Perhaps the most amazing part of this airport is that planes can fly in from nearly any destination, including London.

HOTELS LAUNCH AMNESTY PROGRAMS FOR STOLEN ITEMS – USA Today
In the hopes of retrieving many of the goods stolen in its 80-year existence, the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel is launching a no-questions-asked amnesty program. Stolen items include from a silver champagne bucket that recently showed up on eBay, and a five-gallon punch bowl that was swiped from the same hotel in the 1950s. If you have stolen an item from this hotel and want to rid yourself of guilt, kindly return the souvenir.

GUNS AND DRUGS SLIPPING THROUGH AT ORLANDO AIRPORT – Orlando Sentinel
Despite heightened security measures pulsing through airports, officials are still reporting that both guns and drugs are getting through security at Orlando International Airport. While perfume bottles and mascara tubes are tediously inspected, weapons and illegal substances manage to slip through. In response to last year’s outrage over the actual disclosure of said items, Greater Orlando Aviation Authority spent an extra $5 million to secure security. Now, Orlando has become the second U.S. airport to place employees under mandatory, 24-hour screening.

FLIERS MORE LIKELY TO SURVIVE A CRASH THAN THEY THINK – The New York Times
If you’re among the majority of passengers, you routinely ignore the flight attendants during their safety instruction speech. Why? Because the assumption is that if the plane crashed, you’ll die no matter what you do. But no matter how disconcerting people find the thought of airplane accidents, statistics and mechanics continue to show that flying remains your safest option. In any airplane accident, passengers are five times more likely to survive than to die. And in these survivable situations, buckling your seatbelt, placing yourself in “crash position” and evacuating properly can help save your life.
