VEGGIES AND HYDROGEN: THE LATEST POWER COUPLEThe New York Times
If you thought ethanol was the latest and perhaps greatest recent permutation of renewable energy, think again. The process, which is akin to oil refining, could help reduce carbon dioxide concentrations in the atmosphere resulting from diesel engines by 50 to 70 percent.

LONDON TUBE VOICE FIRED FOR FUNNY BUSINESS – Boing Boing
Recently, the woman whose voice serves as the otherwise innocuous announcer for London Underground was sacked for blogging and recording her own witty announcements. Her humorous quips ranged from “We’d like to remind our American tourist friends that you are almost certainly talking too loud” and “Oh, for goodness sake, if you’re a female, smile at the bloke next to you and make his day. He probably hasn’t had sex for months.”

DANGEROUS EXHIBIT CRACKS DEFINITION OF ART AND INJURES 15Times Online (UK)

Normally, health warnings rarely accompany art (excluding works by Damien Hirst or Tracey Emin) but several casualties have occurred at the Tate Modern in London. Fifteen people have been injured while curiously observing Shibboleth 2007, a large crack that widens and deepens as it trails along the gallery’s Turbine Hall; some places are large enough for a toddler to tumble into. The museum has considered using Perspex glass to cover Shibboleth 2007.
