AIRPORT LINES UNEXPECTEDLY REASONABLE AFTER THANKSGIVING – MSNBC
Travelers heading home on a busy post-Thanksgiving Sunday are reporting “reasonable” lines at the airports. With an estimated 38.7 million people traveling 50 miles or more, about 4.7 were expected to fly over the holiday weekend. Delays were reported to be minimal at Atlanta ’s Hartsfield-Jackson and Chicago ’s O’Hare Airport, among others.

TWO KILLED IN SOUTH DAKOTA PLANE CRASH - KARE 11
At least two people died Sunday when a small plane crashed at Faribault Municipal Airport in Aberdeen , South Dakota . Four people were on board the plane, but there is no official word on the other two passengers. The four-seat aircraft caught fire and left debris across the airfield. Additional details about the remaining passengers and where the plane was headed are still pending.

AIRLINE’S FOOD SICKENS ITS OWN EMPLOYEES – Fox News
Five United Airlines employees had to seek medical attention after the company provided them a Thanksgiving meal. A questionable turkey is under suspicion for causing nausea and vomiting in the workers, at least three of whom have since returned to work. The airline had been under criticism for “distancing itself from its employees” in the past, particularly after top managers raked in tens of millions of dollars after employees took large pay cuts. Some viewed the dinner as a “reconciliatory gesture.”

PARENTS DEMAND MORE RESPONSIBILITY FROM AIRLINES - CNN
When kids travel solo, their well-being isn’t necessarily the first thing that airlines take into consideration. Hundreds of thousands of unaccompanied minors fly in the United State each year. This year, there have been 36 complaints regarding unaccompanied minors, including two children put on the wrong flight by Northwest employees, and a 9-year-old boy who had to use a stranger’s cell phone after being stranded in an airport during a snowstorm.

Parents may want to take note of these tips when traveling with kids, especially around the busy holidays. Some advice include shipping luggage ahead of yourselves, traveling non-stop early in the day, and making the security line experience a little easier by informing the TSA of any extra formula, milk, or food that you may be carrying for the kids. And, what you may not know is that some travel insurance companies will even cover your kids for free.
