Save With Independent Shore Excursions

Daily Travel Tips, Travel Tips on November 26, 2007 12:40 pm

Avoid the crowds and save money by booking your own shore excursions when you cruise.

You can pre-book your land activities with an independent excursion company, even before you board.

When the cruise ship docks for the day, you can be ahead of the game if you book in advance with an independent company.

In Alaska, Port Promotions offers a Yukon and Sled Dog Tour along the Gold Rush Trail for just $179 a person. Compare that with Royal Caribbean which can cost you up to $460.

If you’re heading to warmer climates, Caribbean Shore Tours in Jamaica offers a Zip Line and ATV Adventure for only $85, which is about $15 cheaper than through a cruise line.

In the Cayman Islands, try a horseback ride on the beach for just $80, saving you up to 25 percent off the cruise line prices.

Any info on reputable companies offering Shore excursions in St. Petersburg, Russia? How to check out the reputation of companies I might find on the web? Prefer not to take the cruise companies offerings. Thank you.
