It’s hard enough for parents to let their kids fly alone, but now many airlines are charging an extra fee for unaccompanied minors.

Here’s which airlines make you pay more.

Some airlines are charging $50 to $100 per leg of the trip for an unaccompanied child.

If your child is between the ages of 5 and 11, flying United Airlines will cost an extra $99 each way.

On Delta, kids 5 to 14 pay a fee of $50 for direct flights and $75 for connecting flights if they are flying without a parent.

Northwest Airlines has the same fees as Delta, but raises their price to an extra $90 for international connecting flights.

The good news is, not all airlines are tacking on these additional fares.

Southwest allows kids to fly alone without any added cost, as long as they fly direct.

So before you schedule a solo flight for your child, be sure to check with the airline to find out if there’s going to be an extra charge.
