Why just visit the Colosseum in Rome when you can get hands-on gladiator training?

Or visit a temple in China when you can get kung fu training by Shaolin monks?

Now you can make gladiator training part of your next Roman holiday. The Rome Cavalieri Hilton hosts an intensive training course on its grounds, complete with gladiator costumes.

It costs about $690 for a small group of up to six people. For the non-Hilton guests, The Gladiator School of Rome offers its own courses taught by members of the Historic Group of Rome/Gruppo Storico Romano, at around $35 per hour.

Shaolin Kung Fu training offered in Zhengzhou, China, on the other hand, is $375 per month. This gets you an English-speaking kung fu trainer, food and accommodations, plus daily training in various disciplines including Tai Chi, Shaolin Kung Fu, and Sanda, which is Chinese boxing.

Also included are Chinese lessons, Buddhism classes, and the possibility of occasional daytrips.
