Zeppelins, the slow-moving large balloons, are starting to load up with
passengers once again. Find out how you can get aboard.

The airships known as zeppelins haven’t been used much lately, other than as
advertising like the Goodyear blimp.

But now a few zeppelins are beginning to reappear for use by travelers. You will soon be able to take an airship over the Golden Gate Bridge and downtown San Francisco with Airship Ventures.

If prices are similar to Europe, 40 minute flights will cost about $300 per person, with discounts for groups.

Zeppelin Tours.com uses them for sightseeing flights in Germany, launching from the southern German town of Friedrichshafen, and floating over the Alps.

Friedrichshafen, which has been building airships since the 1920s, is also home to the Zeppelin Museum, where you can see a recreation of the Hindenberg. But
unlike the Hindenberg, these days, zeppelins are filled with non-flammable helium.
