Save Time, Money, and Travel Better with Peter's Daily Travel Tips

If you’ve ever wanted more options when connecting between smaller cities and airports, you might want to check out one of the new air taxi services, or light jets, springing up. Several new companies are using light jets to provide connections between smaller cities and airports. These air taxi services, like DayJet, SATSair, and Linear Air, are usually cheaper than charters.

DayJet, for example, charges under $1000 for a flight from Boca Raton to Tallahassee, while a charter would easily be triple that. Another plus is that the more people fly on the plane, the cheaper your ticket gets — so with enough passengers on your flight, it probably won’t be much more expensive than a regular commercial flight.

But the biggest impact may be adding connections to smaller, under-served airports. For most, this is yet another reason to seek out alternate airports, even if you aren’t willing to pay for a more private form of air travel.
