The dollar may be down, but did you know there are many places around the world where it still carries some weight?

So where in the world do American dollars still go pretty far? One place is Argentina.

Although the country isn’t quite as inexpensive as it was after the currency crash of late 2001, you can still get a deluxe studio apartment in downtown Buenos Aires with daily maid service for about $70 per night from ApartmentsBA.com.

In Canada, the U.S. dollar’s always gone a bit further.

Ski Canada offers a five-night economy hotel package with three days of lift tickets in Banff for just $460 U.S.

Another good value is Vietnam, where the honeymoon suite at the upscale Victoria Hoi An Beach Resort offers an outdoor shower, and a nightly rate of $195.
