Everyone’s heard of Triple A, America’s largest auto club. But drivers and road trippers might be interested to know that there are plenty of alternatives that could work even better.
Eco-friendly drivers might like the Better World Auto Club, which donates one percent of its revenues to environmental causes.
It also lobbies FOR stricter environmental controls, as opposed to AAA, who opposes them.
Sam’s Club has partnered with GE Motor Club to offer inexpensive driver assistance to its members.
Many insurance companies also offer auto club services, usually for an additional fee on top of your insurance.
With some insurance companies, like Allstate, you don’t have to have their insurance to sign up for their roadside assistance.
Cell phone carriers like Sprint and Cingular also offer roadside help, which are often farmed out to other services, so check before signing up.
