As handy as it is, the Internet can sometimes contain errors — and travel sites are no exception.
But taking advantage of a pricing error can yield some stunningly good deals. How good?
A British man booked a room at the Holiday Inn Resort in Phuket, Thailand, for three cents per night thanks to a tip from Flyer Talk’s message boards.
Airfare Watchdog.com found fares on American Airlines from Milwaukee and Kansas City to Acapulco, Mexico, for zero dollars, plus taxes, and Fare Alert.net found business-class tickets on Alitalia from Toronto to Cyprus for about $35 plus taxes.
In all three cases, the companies responsible for the mistakes ended up having to honor the prices. So for dirt-cheap travel opportunities, keep one eye out for mistakes, and the other on Airfare Watchdog, Flyer Talk and Fare Alert.
